We here at Unique-Vacation-Ideas.com are serious about travel, and want to make sure that we put our money where our mouth is when we say that everyone should have the opportunity to travel and see the world.  Travel can be expensive these days, so we thought we’d help you out.

Beginning today, March 21, 2011 and continuing until 11:59 PM EDT (official time to be kept according to José’s phone) on Sunday, June 19, 2011 it’s all up to you to promote this site to as many people as you possibly can.  The individual who sends the most verifiable traffic our way over the 90 days this contest will be running, will win a round-trip flight just about anywhere in the world.

Rules, Details, all that good stuff!

1. The traffic must be verifiable.  Don’t just send us an email and say “I sent 20 billion people to your site”.  For this reason we strongly encourage you to sign up with a service such as bit.ly which will give you a unique url that you can post on facebook, your blog, twitter, in your email signature, wherever you like really.  Not only will the link be easy to copy, but you’ll also be able to track how many people click your link.  Send us screenshots of your stats and we’ll check them against our own stats, and you’ll be verified.  There might be other ways to prove how many people you got to visit our site, but this is likely the easiest and most effective.
2. The point of this is to increase word of mouth, in a good way.  Do NOT spam, harass, be obnoxious or otherwise behave in a way that will make people think that you (and we, by extension) are jerks.  Don’t trick people, or deceive them into visiting.  Keep it G-Rated.  There’s lots of great ways that you can bring people here: make an awesome youtube video plugging the site and make it go viral.  Tell your competitive friends that you are going to beat them, and get some friendly rivalry going.  Include a link in your email signature.  Heck, if you wanted to, you could even take out a facebook or google ad.  Try any or all of these, or come up with something new and original.  just don’t be a jerk and don’t break the law.
3. Visits to the site are what counts, not how many people you tell.  If they don’t actually make it here, it doesn’t matter how many times you tell them.  Similarly, visits from ‘bots’, automated systems, or other non-human entities will not be counted.  Participants who knowingly attempt to win by using such a system or comparable method will be disqualified.
4. This contest is active as of March 21,2011 , and ends on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 11:59 PM EDT.  José’s cell phone will be the official time piece.  If it fails for some reason, then Yoshi’s cell phone will be the official back up.  At that point you will no longer be able to submit your claims.  If the above date has passed, try checking for a current contest, or sign up for our newsletter, where you’ll get special advance notice of upcoming competitions.
5. You can collaborate with others, but only one prize will be awarded.  In the event of a tie, the winner shall be determined by coin toss.
6. The winner of this prize will be entitled to a round-trip flight to any single destination in the world that is serviced by a carrier in the One World Alliance.  Said flights will not cost in excess of $5,000 total.  Prize must be redeemed within one (1) year of receipt, except where prohibited by law.
7. The winner will provide Unique-Vacation-Ideas.com with no less than sixty (60) days notice of intended travel dates.  Prize redemption is subject to seat availability, and possible black out dates or flight unavailability.
8. Both round trip tickets are to be used by two individuals traveling together on the same flight itinerary.  If the prize is redeemed for solo travel, then only one round-trip ticket will be awarded.
9. All travel must originate and conclude in the Continental United States.
10. Prize only includes flights.  Lodging, food, and other transportation or associated costs as well as acquiring any necesarry visas, travel permits, passports or other documents are the sole responsibility of the traveler(s).
11. Contestants must be 18 years of age and legally resident in the United States in order to participate.
12. Participants found to be in violation of any of the above terms shall be ineligible to receive any prizes.

By participating in this competition, participant agrees that to be bound by the terms above, and understands that prizes are not guaranteed.  Odds of winning depend on number of participants entering the contest.
