After a series of fairly disappointing waterfalls, we finally made our way to Gozalandia falls, a fairly secluded waterfall just outside the town of San Sebastian, on the way to Hatillo, in Puerto Rico. It was a slippery climb down to the river, and I’m not too proud to say that I did the last few feet on my butt. It may have been the dry season, but the falls were going, and the local boys assured me that it was easy enough to climb the falls and to jump. I’m glad I only found out after the fact that people have died jumping into these falls.
The boys showed me the way up, made sure that I jumped from just the right spot, and what can I say, it was amazing. I haven’t jumped off a ledge like that since high school and stupid or not, it was loads of fun.
