Honeymoon Vacation Spots

When you and your soon-to-be husband or bride are narrowing down your list of honeymoon vacation spots, the most important thing for you both to consider is what kind of honeymoon vacation you dream of.  Many people long for a classic caribbean honeymoon vacation, and there are many great options to be had.  On the other hand, maybe you’d enjoy something different, a texas honeymoon vacation or going to Colorado.

In addition to geographical locations, be sure to consider what sort of trip you’re looking for.  Do you want an adventure? Or maybe something more relaxed to help you unwind from all the hustle and bustle of the wedding.  Do you want to be on the beach, in the country or maybe a Las Vegas honeymoon vacation captures your imagination.

Lastly, you need to think about how much money you want to spend.  Just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean you can’t have luxurious and romantic honeymoon vacation.  In fact, as you get away from the pre-packaged deals and plan your own more personalized vacation, you’ll find that some of the most unique ideas can also be the best cheap honeymoon vacations.

Best Honeymoon Beach Vacations

Most people dream of a relaxed honeymoon beach vacation.  Walking, hand in hand through the surf while the sun sets in the horizon; sipping champagne in a hammock strung between two palm trees; feeding each other decadent pieces of mango and papaya–this is the stuff that dreams are made of.

When considering honeymoon vacation spots, the trick to planning your beach honeymoon vacation is to make sure that you get the most out of your dollar and don’t end up feeling like you’re just one more tourist going through the resort machine.  The good news is that whether you decide on a caribbean honeymoon vacation, a hawaiian honeymoon vacation, or decide to jet off to Bora Bora or Tahiti there are many excellent options.

One of my favorite beach honeymoon vacation spots is the island of Vieques, just off of the coast of Puerto Rico.  This tiny island is home to one of the most magical experiences that you can have on earth.  Mosquito bay is home to the best phosphorescent bay in the world.  Go on a kayak tour with dinner and champagne, watch the sunset on your own secluded beach, and then go for a swim.  Tiny micro-organisms in the water make it glow a brilliant blue whenever the water is moved.  You’ll be surrounded by your own shimmering light.  You have to see it to believe it!

Honeymoon Sailing Vacation

Love the ocean, but want something different? Consider a honeymoon sailing vacation.  Sailboat charters all over the world will provide you with a boat you sail on your own if you have the skills, or you can easily hire a boat with captain, crew, even your own cook!  Consider sailing the Greek islands, or the Dalmatian coast of Croatia.  Maybe you’d like to find the perfect caribbean cay with nobody around for miles except the love of your life.  Explore the coast of India or island-hop Indonesia.  With your own boat there is no shortage of honeymoon vacation spots that you can explore.

Honeymoon Adventure Holiday

Colorado Honeymoon Vacation

Of course, there’s no reason you should be limited to the ocean.  Maybe your idea of romance is less sand, and more soaring mountains or cozy campfire.  You could go horseback riding out in the wilderness, or in the winter spend your days skiing in some of the best fine powder and your evenings cuddled up by a fire in a rustic cabin.  Do you like hiking?  Imagine climbing one of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks and sitting on top of the world with your sweetheart.  When it comes to honeymoon vacation spots, Colorado is a real winner!

Cheap Honeymoon Vacations

I never believe in paying more than you need to, but lot’s of people out there will take advantage and take a regular vacation, turn it into a “honeymoon vacation” and raise the price on you.  If you’ve been shopping around and are starting to worry that there is no way that you can afford the honeymoon vacation of your dreams, don’t give up.  There are lots of ways to save money without sacrificing quality.  Some of the best ways to save money will even help you have the best trip overall.  And remember, when you get back from the trip of your dreams, you’re still going to have those bills to pay–don’t let those become the most lasting memento of your honeymoon!

So, what are some cheap honeymoon vacation spots that don’t skimp on luxury? Well, first of all, hunt around for hidden gems.  If everyone is going to the major caribbean islands, go somewhere like St. Lucia, Martinique or even Trinidad & Tobago.  Instead of going to the major resorts in Colorado, look into renting your own little cabin in the woods.  Sure, you may have to supply your own champagne and strawberries, but you’ll have privacy and a place with real charm and personality as well as a few extra dollars to spend!

Consider staying at a place that has a kitchen you can use.  Save money by preparing your own breakfast and lunch (picnic on the beach, anyone?) and spend your money on that unique restaurant that has a two-month waiting list.  Think about what is most important to you and your partner and splurge on those things, and then look for other expenses that you can save on so that you get the most precious memories for the dollars spent

  1. Hi there this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      Hi there,
getting started with your own webpage can be a bit overwhelming. There are quite a few editors out there that will allow you to run a site with little or no HTML. However, if you’re just getting started, then I cannot more highly recommend Site Build It! as an all-in-one package that will both quickly get you going and focused on operating a profitable website and give you the tools you need to understand the fundamentals of creating an online business.
